When I was 60 years old, I convinced management to send me through the 10-week Basic Mandate course required of peace officers in Georgia. I loved it. Even more amazingly, they let me join the reserve force at Forest Park, an Atlanta suburb. I loved that even more. For the last five or six years of my career, I specialized, as much as allowed, in police stories and trials.
