Donna,
of course, is my wife, and that's her in the picture above. I'm the
goofy-looking, easily-manipulated fellow she's in the act of presenting. The
picture was taken in 2002 at the Gila Cliff Dwellings by our son Kurt.
This site was designed and constructed by Donna, who insisted that any self-respecting author must have a web site. I'm still self-respecting, so I guess that's all right.
Shikar is out of print. Ibooks contracted to publish the book in paperback under a new title, Maneater. It came out in January, and Ibooks went belly-up about a month later. Nothing can be done about the rights to the book until the bankruptcy issue is settled.
The only good news to report is that the entertainment division of Hallmark took an 18-month made-for-DVD movie option on the book. That firm has reassigned the option to an outfit called Paquin in Saskatchewan.
Despite all this, I hope you'll look around. Send us a message, sign our guestbook. We'd like to know what you think. If you get all excited and decide to buy the paperback, check Amazon first. Last I heard they were selling a few remaining copies of the hardback cheaper than the paperback.
